Isolé: a vision of mindful luxury, coming soon…

Welcome to Isolé, a boutique retreat where thoughtful design and mindful choices create an unparalleled stay. Inspired by its name, meaning “secluded” in French, Isolé sits close to the vibrant city of Hobart while providing a private, peaceful escape.

Though still in development, every aspect of Isolé has been carefully imagined. Five architecturally designed, self-contained studios will be thoughtfully spaced apart to ensure privacy. Each studio will feature high-end comforts such as private heated magnesium plunge pools and king size beds so cozy you may never want to leave. For those who don’t wish to disconnect entirely, smart TVs are discreetly integrated into custom cabinetry, disappearing at the flick of a switch to let your view take centre stage.

Speaking of that view…from each studio you’ll find a unique perspective of the Derwent Valley. See the historic township of Wulawali/New Norfolk, the rolling hills and mountains beyond including majestic kunanyi/Mt Wellington, and the River Derwent meandering below.

Personal touches will set Isolé apart, such as handmade feature tiles crafted by a local artist using materials sourced directly from the property, alongside original Tasmanian artwork curated to enhance the beauty of the space. These details ground Isolé in its landscape and community, ensuring every stay feels intimate, personal, and distinctly Tasmanian.

Our ongoing operations will support local producers, with every studio having a larder and bar stocked with local food and beverages, offering guests a taste of the island’s richness.

At the heart of the property will be the Retreat. A flexible communal space designed for everything from building new friendships over fireside chats with fellow guests to yoga and meditation. The Retreat offers an opportunity for exclusive site bookings, intimate gatherings and events, or even creative pursuits like art and music.

Sustainability guides the choices we’re making without ever compromising on luxury. We’re integrating low-emission pellet heaters, EV charging stations and energy-efficient design. When complete, Isolé will operate on tank water with grey water recycling from our onsite laundry, and incorporate solar power, with plans to gradually expand renewable energy with resource-smart solutions.

Isolé is more than just a business to us. It’s a vision we’ve nurtured since our first visit to Tasmania in 2016, and we are thrilled to be in the process of making it a reality. Through this blog, we’ll share milestones, behind-the-scenes updates, and stories about the people and places shaping Isolé. We invite you to follow our journey as we continue to bring it to life.
